With the cost of tires, there is no point in moving to a big 18" on this car unless you are going to exceed a 255/10" combination. The benefit of an 18” is the wider wheel and tire options. If your not going to take advantage of that, and alternatively going to the other extreme of conservative 8” widths. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense, and from a looks standpoint, it makes the car look like its on skinny stilts, so who cares what the face design is at that point.

Curious why you would pass on them? Because they're not staggered?
Thanks
8" rear is a deal breaker for me, might not be for you. You can still run a 245 rear which would be an upgrade from AP1 wheels. Also, with a 235/40 on the front with a 8" +48 wheel, you will likely have to do some fender work.
That was my thought, if I could fit 245's on the rear when it was time to replace them, that was the plan.

That said, I'd like to stay away from fender work if possible. What kind of work would the front take with a +48 and 235's? Fender roll, pull, camber?

Thanks, sounds like these may not be the way to go.

Definately a roll for the fronts. Rear should be ok but yeah I will echo the not running 8 inch wide wheels in the rear. Kinda pointless.

Hey all, there's also a setup available that's 18x8 +48 And 18x9 +55. This would be ideal, but I guess I'd still be stuck having to get the fenders rolled. Would I have to do anything in the rear, bumper tab, roll, camber, etc. , or would they be fine with that offset? I'd still be planning on running my 235s till next spring.

Fender mods not crucial for fitment here, no. You won't want to exceed a 235 for the front with an 8" regardless. Just make sure your running a decent amount of camber (-2) you will want a 255 in the rear eventually. At that point, if your lowered more then an 1" your going to want to mod your fenders to insure they won't rub. But this is not an aggressive wheel set. Only 20mm over stock up front and 17mm in the rear. The factory lip that gets rolled is 20mm and factory wheel distance from thr lip and front fender tabs is 20mm from hitting that. With just the basic fender mods, you can go 40mm more aggressive over stock.

So I'd need to get the camber done and that's it? How much does that usually cost, is it just the price of an alignment? If I went this route I'd get a 225/255 setup next spring, just too much going on right now.

I'll lightly never let it, the roads are too bad here.

Thanks

Yep, cost of an alignment.

18x8+48 and 18x9+55 with 225/40 & 255/35 will not require fender modification.

Would fender work be needed for 235s? (Only for this summer)

235 on an 8+48 would more than likely require a roll. 225 barely fit. You might be able go get away with it if you 2-3 degrees of negative camber. I wouldn't risk it or go through the hassle of rolling fenders to use those tire. Get proper tires and save yourself the headache. Rolled fenders lower resale value, can damage paint and will look out of place if you run a 225 after that.
