If you did a higher percentage of track time, I would say RS3's they are faster than the Star Specs by a small margin on a track. BUT the Star specs are a better street tire, dont need as much heat, better in the rain, longer lasting, and more responsive.

I've got about 10k miles on my rear 225/50-16 RS-3s, still 5/32 to go (3/32 to wear indicators). Should get 14k out of them. I don't think I ever got more than that out of StarSpecs. Also, ran in the rain at Mosport with StarSpec fronts and RS-3 rears, not a big difference in wet lateral grip, no balance issues. Though, curiously, while the rear RS-3s seemed to have decent lateral grip in the wet, they seemed to lose more longitudinal grip (wheelspin out of 5c).
