Default Tires rubbing

Can anyone suggest what i should do, i bought my car already lowered and had the stock 16 rims on the car now i put 17 inches and when i go over bumps u hear the tires scraping the wheel well, is it better to get the wheel wells shaved or see if the shocks are adjustable. Will it be an expensive project? Should i have a regular mechanic look at it or bring it to an aftermarket place that installs rims. When i ordered my rims it came mounted and balanced with tires on in mail. Thanks for any input.

Well on my dads car we have a 17'' rim with 235 front and 275 rear. Now since our rear is 275 we have been rubbing alot (and sometimes in the front). All we did was roll the fenders, the old fasion way. All you need is a metal baseball bat, a heat gun/hair dryer, and a jack. Lift your car high enough so that you can just fit the bat into the gap between the fender and the tire. Lower the car just alittle bit so there is pressure on the bat. Angle the bat upward about 40degrees. Now use the heat gun/hair dryer and move it side to side along the part that you are rolling (so the paint wont chip). Now just have the bat angled and then start twisting the bat.

I hope that helped i am not very good at explaining things

You can start with running more negative camber. What size tires are you running on the wheels?

They must be aftermarket. The stocks won't rub when lowered on those size tires.

The width of the tires is fine, its the offset of the rims thats the problem. You can start by running more neg camber (as previously posted) and if that doesnt take care of it, let the fender rolling begin!!!

I'm running 225/40/18, 285/30/18
