RE71R plenty quick if tenths of a second at the track or autoX aren't critical. I've run them and I like them a lot. You won't get a lot of miles out of them tho! S007A *might* last longer at the expense of outright grip.

I know. At this point, the way I enjoy driving this car is worth the cost of the wheels/tires. No better place for a performance upgrade. Thanks for the input.

For street performance consider the Bridgestone S-04. I ran these for a while and they perform well with little road noise. I did a 1700 mile road trip with them and they were great.

They "can" be used at the track but will not be fast nor will they hold up for long. For track use you would really want a TW200 tire like the RE71R as others have mentioned.

Placed order for OEM reconditioned/remanufactured/refurbished CR wheels, charcoal gray. No idea how long to source these if not readily available. Will see. I'm running Indy 500s on the AP2V1 wheels, 225/45 FR and 255/40 RR. Planning to run the same FR and RR sizes for the Bridgestone/CR wheel set up.

Where did you find them for sale? I'm interesting in getting a set too!

I did not. Could not source them at all, with anyone. Then decided to get another set of remanufactured/reconditioned OEM AP2V1, but could only find one set and would have paid twice what I paid just 2.5 years ago for the same wheels. Went with an AP2V1 replica at a reasonable cost. I already have two sets of OEM wheels, so I am ok with the replicas. They are wearing S-04's, 225 FF and 255 RR. I'll put these on the car in late May when warmer temperatures are here to stay. Then back to the OEM/Indy 500's in late September. I am still looking for CR wheels but not much hope of finding them.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, I am not too familiar with wheel fitments. If I want a 7.5" wide wheel, which offset range would I need as the 7.5" width falls under all the offset ranges listed here. Am I misinterpreting this? Thanks in advance!

All those offset ranges listed fit with 7.5J, it will be mostly personal preference how flush you want the wheels to be

And if you are willing to roll fenders. And how low you want the car.

Default Club TR Gridlife build

Hey guys, long time reader and former track prepped EK owner, I’m just now getting back into the game after my built EK was stolen while in college.. fast forward 14 years, I’m a whole lot wiser, financially able and have my own garage to build a competitive Club TR S2000 in the next season or two.

I’m in process of turning my garage queen 07 SSM I’ve owned since 2014 into a worthy competitor and am currently looking at maximizing mechanical grip within the rules. I am mechanically inclined and not afraid of the fender modifications required, I have already cut the tabs on the front and removed liner, as well was relocated tabs in the rear. I was going to buy Urge’s “Grip” wheels but have been looking for a cheaper 18x10 option as they run upwards of 4000, that’s when I stumbled upon Titan’s FD specific 18x10 +50 wheels which I think I can make work.

255 RT660’s are the club tire max, so 18x10 is perfect, to accommodate the front I planned on adding Origin Fab offset bushing which would effectively get me within ~1mm fender clearance as 9x +45 setups with 255s, so I think the fronts will work. The rears I’m a little more apprehensive about, it’s equivalent to 9x +38 which I know people have run but this car will see serious track use and I’m trying to avoid any rubbing. I know the tire profile is in my advantage with a 255 on a 10 vs a 9 which should give me a few hairs more of clearance…but I wanted to run this by the community first before biting the bullet, (looking for s2000junky and manga_spawn’s expertise in particular).

eager to hear your input and excited to build this car!
