Wheel Fitment Guide
Ok I just brought a set of rims for my 02 s2k and I need to find out what tire size should I go with... here are the rim sizes
Front: 18x8 +38 offset rear: 18x9 +38 offset
I did check on tire rack and they said I should put 225/40/18 up front and in the rear I should put 255/35/18
Also my car isnt lowered yet

Okay these are my specs: megan track coilovers lowered to no wheel gap out back half inch tuck up front. Wheels I want to put on are ce28 18x7.5 50 offset front 225/40/18 rear 18x8.5 52 offset 265/35. I dont want to raise the car... will a roll make them fit out back? will I need to roll the fronts too? if I swap to a 255 or 245 rear will it work without a roll?
rears: i think that you will be able to run 245, 255 maybe. you should not run a 265 on a 8.5 inch wide wheel, even on a 9 it is pinched (ask me how i know). still may want a roll though. this depends on tire model as well.
fronts: here is where i'd recommend a roll for sure if you wanna run real low ride height. its not so much about how it looks, but how the tire will impact the fender under lock to lock turning in a parking lot. this is when you hear of people "popping" their fenders. they turn sharply, the tire catches a fender liner tab and bends it outside of the fender. 225 is good size.
my experience is this, i went from 18s to stock 16s. on 18s i was as low as i could go on my buddyclubs, but still near the stock rolling diameter on tires. once i put on the 16 it didn't even look like i was lowered. this is because the 18s take up so much more of the height in the fender.
good luck and post pictures when you get your set up dialed in

these are pretty aggressive wheels. you'll be fine at stock ride height except it will look kind of "4x4" ish because of the offsets and the 18 inch diameter. you can run a 235 up front with an 8 inch wheel. 255 in the rear is good, you could run 265/35 but be prepared to pay more money. you're gonna need a fender all around and a tab relocate if you planning on lowering it. you may touch the tire under big dips at higher speed.
no, but a rolling your fenders may be necessary, dependent upon your camber specs. tons of people run 8+45 Front and 9 +45 rear. the extra half inch in width means they poke about 1/4 inch from the afore mentioned specs.
Hey guys:
Sorry to bother you, but...I'm looking at a 2004 S2K with about 50,000 miles on it...I have a set of Acura A-spec wheels..18x8.5 +45 just wondering if these would fit with 225/40 and 255/35s??
Car is not lowered and I don't intend to lower it. Thnx!!

there is no ideal tire size or width that everyone agrees on. i think anything wider than the stock wheels is an improvement. if you are running over fenders in the rear i would go 9+22 or 9.5 +35. you could run a number of sizes. you could also go 10+45 or 44. all up to you and what wheels you'd like to run and what sizes they come in. if it were me? i'd probably run a 9+63 in the front and 9+45 in the rear if you're talking non staggered. staggered, ie an setup i'm looking at right now is 18x9.5 +40 rear and 8.5+38 (which is nearly the same as a 9+45 on the outside). some people like stagger, some don't, i like 18s. and dropped cars.
they fit, i recently looked at those wheels. you will have no issues running them on stock height. should be good if you lower it too. post pictures when your done. i considered getting a small spacer for the rear if i went that route. to push the rears out and not make it look like the front were more aggressive than the rears. maybe a 5mm or 3mm spacer. the bolt patt

Im looking to possibly replace my current Work kai wheels which are 17x9+38 concaved with something like work vsxx or bbs lm style wheels. For you wheel gurus I was wondering if you guys know what size width and offsets I'd have to look for to have a nice sized lip without having to pull or flare anything. My fenders are currently trimmed only to fit the +38 offsets I have now but dont want to do anything else. I'd like to stay in the 17inch category but if I have to go 18's i will.. Im lowered about an inch on swift sport machs as well.. If you have any pics of s2ks with these wheels in proper s2k fitments and/or for sale let me know
Thanks

looks like i didn't reply to your post, and seeing as i'm the only that actually answers questions in this sticky-ed thread, i'll help you out as best as i can.
i have seen some BBS LM 17 for sale in the wheels for sale sub forum, i wanna say they were 7.5 up front +40something and the rear were 10 inches wide with a plus 55. the larger the width the more lip typically, but MOST wheels in a 10 inch width are going to be much more aggressive than a +55. a 10 +55 is nearly the same (in relation to where the wheel sits in relation to the out side of the fender) as 9 +35. if you are running 9+38 right now and clear, and you want more lip, you should be fine by increasing width, while keeping offsets in mind.
in volk CE (a wheel i'm more familiar with) 17x10+44 has about 2 inches of lip and is concaved. 17x10 +50 is flat faced and only has about a 1 inch lip. my 18x9 +35 had about an inch and a half but was flat faced. i've heard the VSXX is offered in some offsets that are not really great for our cars in 17 inch diameter. you may wanna look at the offsets of the 18inch line.
good luck let us know what you end up doing
