hey all,

Please excuse the ignorance, I know nothing about wheel size/offsets etc.

Can I fit the following without fouling/rubbing etc and is this a good size/offset to go with...

Front - 8" x 17" +55 offset / tyre 215/45R17
Rear - 9" x 17" +65 offset / tyre 245/40R17

I want to keep rolling radius as close as possible to OE and also keep the wheel 'positioning' as close to OE as possible too.

Thanks

Yup this should fit easily with those high offsets. No fender work needed.

thanks manga... i'm so wary of making mods if not sure... glad so many helpful people on here.

I'm right in saying with those offsets, the wheels will stick out slightly more and also be further in slightly more (due to the width, but it should be by about equal amounts.

Looking at the OE wheels on the car, its difficult to judge how they will look as there doesnt seem to be that much more it can stick out before being outwith the arches, but going on some of the sizes people have fitted, looks like there is more room than you think.

Obviously I dont want the wheels fouling on the inside edge either haha.

Yes they will be slightly different but not enough to matter.

Front
Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 12.7mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 12.7mm more than before.

Rear
Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 6.4mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 6.4mm more than before.

thanks Manga... does anyone know exactly how much 'room' there is to play with front and rear on the inside and outside or is it not possible to work out?

Ask junky. He has measured that. The fronts are harder because the wheel turns so even with conservative offset you need to be careful as it can grab.

thanks Manga... do you have a link to his profile? Cant find him on the search.
Hopefully there will be enough room for 8 x 17 fronts with that offset on full lock.
