Default Are CCW wheels still popular?

I am thinking of getting a set of ccw lm5 wheels for my s2k and was wondering who the go to dealer is nowadays. It seems like not too many people run these wheels anymore since 2016. Any reason why?The other option I like is SSR Sp1 or work vsxx. My main goal is trying to fit a wide tire in the rear 285/30/18. My current wheels are Jline 2piece 18x8 and 18x9 which I have had for 15 years. They are loosing air and pretty beat now. Thanks for the help.

As far as I know, any "dealer" would just be a middle man as you are basically buying a one off wheel. I always dealt with CCW directly: http://ccwheel.com

I think they were bought by Weld some time ago and their website seems to be lacking. I don't even see the LM series available but I think they still are. I think the prices have gone up quite a bit (I'd guess around $4k wheels only) and the forum preference is for lightweight, 17", forged monoblock wheels. Tire options are very limited for 245/35, 285/30 and will run $1k+. I'm not sure how you feel about gold but I have been considering selling mine.

Ya I did get a quote from ccw for a wheel and it was $1200 plus ship and any options. Way higher than I thought they use to be. I may have to rethink this. If you ever sell your wheels let me know. I am not sure how i feel about gold yet. Wonder if I should just rebuild my two piece wheels to make them wider and fix the air leak problem.

If you order from CCW it may take quite a while to get the wheels too, as they are custom made. Since you are leaking, I would hop on facebook or craigslist and try to find something that fits asap. There are also CCW specific sale groups on there.

Thanks! I will check those groups out. Luckily this car is just a weekend toy car so I have a little time but winter is coming and do want ti enjoy some drives! The other option I was thinking were work or ssr 3piece wheels. My goal is getting the widest tire possible for better traction and keep the car aigile.

the wheels you are choosing are all very heavy and will still take a long time to get from japan. you could put your order in now and if you want to drive over the next few months, you could just buy something used with tires on facebook marketplace and enjoy for now and not worry too much about how it looks if they are not really your taste.

there are lots of wheels you can buy used and sell used for what you bought them for...rpf1s...weds tc105x, etc. that's why those models are so popular haha. they also have the added bonus of being light and agile and easily replaceable.
