I have the Blizzak WS60, which is the best traction tire, Dunlop Winter Sport and the Michelin available. In your are a tire like the Dunlop would be a really good choice. They are recommneded by Porsche and Audi for their cars.
We do have the 50.00 mail in rebate going on at this time.
If I can help let me know
hey Jim

is that per tire? or off total order

Im looking for some winters for my AP2 wheels.. snow isnt a major concern for me, I live in NY metro area but can just stay off the road when we get hit.

what do you recommend?

FYI - I used cooper weather masters on my mr2 spyder & they made driving the car a miserable experience. I hope the blizzaks are much better

I'd recommend Blizzaks over Dunlop WinterSports, have had both and while the Dulops are better handling on the dry days I don't think its worth the tradeoff of lower grip on snow and snow covered ice.

do the dunlops still have decent grip in the snow?
Like i said, i can wait to drive until the snow is plowed.. will definitely do a lot more dry driving than snow driving

In my experience, the Dunlops do have great grip in the snow. The Blizzaks may be better in the snow, but I've found the WinterSport 3D/M3 tires to be a relevation relative to what I've been used to in the snow, while also giving semi-decent dry performance.

Grip is still pretty good with the Dunlops so if thats what you prefer you'll be fine. I however, have changed my mind from thinking that the Dunlops would be better because much of the winter driving is done in the dry anyways, to thinking that the Blizzaks are better because ultimate snow grip is the point of winter tires to begin with and I'm not going to be blasting through corners and wearing out my tires quicker than necessary when it's 0 degrees outside anyways. When I'm on my winter tires I try to preserve their tread most of the time, unless there is a lot of snow on the ground. In that case it's just too much fun to resist going as fast as possible, passing under-tired vehicles of all sorts, and the Blizzaks are amazing in these conditions. As dangerous as that may sound...I do keep it safe. The Dunlops aren't so bad but they seem harder and less pliable so they have a little less grip.

I've got a set of 4 Dunlop WinterSport M2's, and the rears (225/50) are worn out. If I go 225/50/16, I need to get the Wintersport M3s, for $129 each. Or, I can go 205/55/16, and get one of two Wintersport 3Ds, or one of two kinds of WinterSport 3Ds (one for $98, one for $108) or M3s for $138. (all prices on tire rack)

Clearly, I'd like to just get the $98 WinterSport 3Ds, but not if there is a compelling reason to get something else, or get 225s. My tires will mostly be used for commuting here in Chicago, nothing dramatic.

Any insight? Jim? Also, I'm looking to order in a couple weeks, any sales coming up? The gift card thing doesn't apply to me since I'm only buying 2 tires.

I agree. I buy winter tires for the worst conditions I am going to encounter. I want my car and me in one piece. I run the Blizzaks and have for years. The new Blizzaks do handle a lot better than the original tires from 10 years ago.
