Super Street Builds a Wicked S2000 in One Week
Most of us spend years building our dream cars. But this killer S2000 is coming together in just 120 hours.
For most of us, building our dream car takes years. Or at least months. But when you’re Super Street, you don’t need silly things like time to build a killer Honda S2000. Nope, you just need roughly 120 hours. Well, that and plenty of skilled hands, the right equipment, and help from some outstanding aftermarket companies. Regardless, building a cool car in a mere week is nothing less than daunting.
This 2001 Honda S2000 build is just the latest “Week To Wicked” project taken on by the SS crew. And it starts with a bone stock, albeit very nice, AP1. With everything seemingly functioning properly, there was little to no maintenance required. So it was on with the mods! The first step involved a suspension overhaul, beginning with new coilovers from AST Suspension and Energy Suspension poly bushings. Not bad for a day’s work.
With the suspension sorted, it was time to turn the attention to power. And what better way to tack on some extra ponies quickly than with GReddy’s V2 S2000 turbo kit? The kit comes with everything you need for forced induction, from manifold and intercooler to even hoses and clamps. And of course, the proverbial cherry on top – a Garrett GTX2867R Gen II turbo.
With 137k miles on the car’s F20C, boost is obviously being kept at conservative levels. But even then, GReddy anticipates a roughly 300 hp output right out of the box. A GReddy exhaust and Profec boost controller round out the tasty package. Only two days into the five day build, and we already like where this S2000 is headed.
