Thought yous might like to know.
Good News:
Well yesterday I went out and picked up a new Cam Chain Tensioner from Showcase Honda (they tried to charge me 160 something at first but I got it for list price 116). Came home drained out all that Mobile 1 and put her in. The removal and install went very smooth. I was done in like 15 mins.
While I was in there I was like well since I'm changing my oil and filter. Now would be a good time to put my oil cooler in right? WRONG! LoL.
This is were it gets bad:
I start unhooking the old oil coolers antifreeze lines and draining it all out. I then go to take out that big banjo bolt looking thing and what ya know I don't have a big enough anything to take it out. Intent on doing this yesterday evening I do a search and find a thread on it that says it a 27mm. I grab a camelback, put on my running shorts and sneakers, and run 2 miles to Autozone. I get the 27mm socket and run back home 2 miles. Break out the shiny new 27mm socket and what ya know..... I'm right back were I started with nothing to fit this big mutha heffa. I finally call it a night and close up the garage cause I'm frustrated.
I get up this afternoon and go back to the garage hook the coolant lines back up, finished the oil change and said screw the Oil Cooler for now because I don't even have space in front to really put it where I want it. So I'm like OK, lets make the space. Besides If I do this now I can notch out and test mount where I want my Intercooler. Yet another semi bad idea.
So I start to modify the bracket holding the A/C dyer/reciever IOT mount it with enough clearance for the Oil Cooler and the Intercooler. Since I'm like a pro with the Dremel it worked out really nicely! Things are looking up now right? WRONG!
Gets worse:
As I'm testing out where to mount the Intercooler I notice what looks like a loose fitting on one of the AC lines. I back it off about 1 or 2 threads with ease and the line blows refrigerant all over my face instantly . I back away from the car and watch my garage fill up with a haze in a matter of seconds. Mind you this line is still blowing this shit everywhere so I go in and tighten the line back down. Now I'm just like FML!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I start to clean up the mess I had just made and in the process said #### it cut my AC line and took out the dryer/reciever. I planed on getting the AC line relocation kit anyway. Now I just have a better and more important reason to spend more money. :-)
So I finish cleaning up and wrapping everything up and take her for a spin. No more gut wrenching and embarrassing chatter or overheating. But no AC for now ordering the kit tomorrow.
