Have you considered A/C parts from a part out?

2007 rear end collision: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=623695

Says make him an offer on the A/C system.

Just a thought if all else fails.
That idea has potential. Couldn't hurt to make him an offer. Worse he can say is no. Good chance of no metal shavings in this system, get the lines also. Bolt it all right back in to your car. Have it flushed just to be on the safe side and filled with freon. Might make you a better deal if you offer to remove it, OP says he is pressed for time. Oxford, MS not that far away. Just my 2 cents. Hate the thought of you not having A/C in the deep south.

just saw this post...ouch... a/c and honda is bad combo. I had a brand new civic before my s that had the same problems ; was under warrenty
honda had to change out the a/c system twice.

like thes2kway says... make sure they change out the whole system.. everything cause they had to do it 3 times on my civic ... with the final time the whole entire system cause the the leftover metal shavings will destroy everything!
