One thing they had in China and Singapore that I thought was a good idea was a count down timer on traffic lights and crossings. If it was red it would be counting down the seconds until it would turn green, and if it was green it would display how many seconds you had left.
Great idea. They have them in Malaysia also.

I'm in Chiang Mai, Thailand at the moment. They don't stop for red lights here. LOL.

They had the countdown timers in turkey too but I didn't see the benefit of them. If its red you're waiting till its green, its not like you can see that it says 5minutes and make a decision based on that.

Have you ever got to a pedestrian crossing that is green and wondered how much longer it will be green for?

Have you ever been at a set of lights and thought, " I wonder when they will turn green."?

In some places the same is achieved by using the yellow light in the change from red to green. It is red, then red&yellow, then green. The red&yellow combo is always the same lenght so you know how long before the change. For pedestrians is a blinking walk light.

Like I said, I've wondered but regardless of the answer there's nothing I can do about it.
