There is an entirely different option as well. My favorite option actually. A guy in Australia actually worked with an ex-Ferrari F1 composites guy to have a pre-preg dry carbon version of the OEM hardtop shell made. A dry carbon OEM top with all of the OEM liners and bits would be quite nice. He had it made to the exact specs of the OEM hardtop shell. One thought was to get an OEM top and then swap the aluminum shell for that dry carbon goodness.

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with the fitment of the Ballade top.
Half of the problem with top fitment is taking the time to adjust everything properly. I know when I got my OEM top it initially fit like crap too until properly adjusted.

Your money. Good luck!
Buy once, buy right! It's less money in the end than buying twice.
I really hope whatever you buy ends up being a quality piece to match the rest of your car.

I'm might be picking up a second S in the next couple of weeks, will purchase the Ballade top for it to compare it against my OEM.
I don't think you would be upset with the Ballade unless the sense of quality is seemingly low once installed on the car. Only thing that would irk me about the Ballade top is the lack of headliner and side/rear plastics. Your interior looks so immaculate, OEM top feels like the only way to go in that regard. Weight difference between the two is less than 10 pounds(if their stated weight included the OEM glass and hardware). Can always buy the OEM top and sell it for the same price(or more...) if it isn't your cup of tea.

I'm also in agreement with Chris. Ballade's top may be different, but I have suspicions they are using the same manufacturer as some of these other companies. The reason being is there are start up costs for any mold/carbon fiber manufacturing that limits the amount of manufacturers that can be in this kind of market.
I think getting an Amuse top would be amazing. It would take awhile, but you would truly have a really special hardtop.
Another idea is get an authentic Mugen. I picked mine up from Evasive, when I bought mine they had three in stock. They may still have one left, and they can always order a carbon fiber one if you prefer. They all come with OEM hardware and seals too. I think an OEM top or Amuse top would fit the style of your car better though.
