Default Fuel Filter

Hello Gang,

So i'm in the middle of dynamatting the trunk and I have all the paneling off including the soft top tray. So with that said, I have easy access to pull out the fuel pump assembly. I'm wondering if it would be worth it or beneficial to take the time now and change out the fuel filter/sock on the pump. At the moment i'm not getting any symptoms that would require me to change it out and the engine runs perfectly fine. The engine has 132k miles on it as well. Thoughts? How much is the filter and does honda normally carry it on the shelf?

its a bitch to do honestly, taking apart the panels is prob only 10% of the work

i would leave it alone unless youre having issues

10%...really? Wow...After reading a few threads it sounded like majority of the problem was just getting to the pump itself. Anyone else have any input on this?

if it's working fine, i don't see why you would need to touch it

If panels are off soft top tray ect... its easy change if you would like.... won't hurt. Honestly if you plan to mod just upgrade the pump

it is straight forward to do. its just taking apart screws but the amount of work space is what kills it. esp if youre bigger in size.

You know Miguel I was thinking the same exact thing tbh. Here's how I look at it, the engine already has 132k miles on it so it's just a matter of time before I have to change out that filter/sock. In addition, I do plan to boost here with in the next year so why not upgrade to a 255 walboro. Problem is, I don't feel like waiting on shipping for a new pump. I'll be done with this current project in the next few days. I figured i'll at least change out the filter/sock since I'm already here but I never did it before so I was looking for a bit of insight. There always a little more to what one reads on DIY's.

If you don't need to draw in any extra fuel for tuning purposes the stock one is fine.. Unless it fails completely of course.
