I'm starting to shop seriously for an '02 or '03 black/black s2000. My ideal car will be a new one under MSRP. I'll also consider a very low-mileage, pristine-condition used '02.

I went to my local Honda dealer here in San Diego and got a quote for a brand new '03 for MSRP but no lower. I then went to the Honda website and emailed all of the dealers in San Diego and in L.A. stating the offer that I had already received and asking for their best offers. Within half a day, almost every single one of them had responded by either email or telephone. I ended up getting mine at Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos for a little over 600 under MSRP. I probably could have gotten a better price but I wanted a black on black s2k and I wanted to pick it up that day.

Thanks vino. So far, I've talked to one local dealer who won't go below MSRP, but one board member said he had gotten one of the south bay dealers to get down to invoice. I know I can do it!
