Default 2007 Honda Civic grimlin

I know that this is an S2000 site but I am desperate. My 2007 Civic (198k) has a problem that I have not been able to fix (also two garages in Denver have thwown up their hands). Basicly, I need to find the best Honda mechanic in Denver. I do not mind paying for results, but I need to find and fix the problem.

Started out with a CEL and limp mode after about 20 miles on the freeway (75 mph) with no code. Turn off engine and restart, no CEL. About a month later, my wife duplicated the system by running in second gear (automatic) for about a mile and a half. Later, there were codes saying "misfire on all cylinders". The last garage I gave it to tried everything they could think of, other than replacing the computer.

Guessing you either have an intermittent short somewhere or the ECU is bad. If you are out of ideas, a used ECU for that car is probably $50 but you will have to recode keys is my guess. The procedure for that is probably on the web somewhere.

Did the original mechanic test the ground and all of the fuses/relays?

Look up the location of all major grounding points and check them for corrosion or tears. Without question replace your negative battery terminal with a thicker gauged wire. Advanced auto parts should sell them with the terminal for under $10.00.

My car had a intermediate misfire and weird electrical gremlins, once when i replaced the battery cable, it was good as new.

Good luck!
