I don't think that cars twice the price of an S2000 are any better, let alone an Evo. No comparison. The S is pure sports car fun. It can't be beat.

comparing the evo IX GSR vs a 02 ap1 from experience. Both of these cars are amazing, in their own way. By personal preference I would pick my s2000. The s2000 is just such an amazing drivers car, if you love to drive, this car is perfect for you. The S is connected directly to the driver, where as the Evo just felt like it had boundaries you had to stay within. I could drive the s2000 all night long the feeling of the car is one I have yet to find with another car.

No, the Evo is a far superior performance car, but they're both extremely fun to drive so it doesn't matter.

I really love them both though. If you can afford both, I highly recommend it.

I literally got approved to buy an Evo X then got an offer for a bada$$ S2K and changed my mind the same day. It's a hit or miss. 270-290hp (depending on year), AWD turbo sedan vs RWD 240hp 2 seater convertible. Obviously as mentioned the s2k is going to be a chick magnet .. and in my area, the evos are almost everywhere. I rarely see s2ks being driven. I'm happy with my decision thus far, just hate the fact of insuring 2 vehicles.

As much as I love to drive my S2000, there's no way I could have it as a daily. I have an STi that is considerably more powerful, just as 'fun' to drive and has more space... but even that's not my daily. If I had to go down to one toy car and was forced to pick between the two, it would be a tough call. If I had to go down to just one vehicle in total, I'd lean towards the STi.

It has been a while since I have posted on a car forum, and I am reminded of how they tend to be populated by utter morons.

I came from an Evo IX RS to the S2000. For what I've spent on the intake, exhaust and Flashpro for my S2000 I could have been at over 320whp on the Evo. From a cost/hp perspective, the Evo is the better platform. And the Evo's mechanicals are known to be reliable save for the ACD pump issue that is pretty common.

Other opinions are subjective and I have my own on those but not sure how that'd be useful here. If I had a choice now, I likely would not have sold the Evo for the S2000. Which is not to say I regret the S2000.

Apples and Oranges. Also, we know nothing about your situation (what you desire out of a car, is it your daily driver, etc.) to side with the apple or the orange.
