Why is it so hard to believe that a stock E92 M3 can outhandle a stock C6??? It barely does it, but still. The acceleration difference is marginal even though the C6 has more HP and shitload more torque. The weight difference is over 400lb.

You cant deny that fact that the M3 does more with 3 strikes against it.

A friend of the family is waiting on delivery of his E92. He resides in Arizona. He might be willing to take you up on your offer. Must warn you though, this man has been racing cars for at least 15 years. I'll shoot you a PM when the time comes.

**Allowing the M a few bolt-ons would be fair too. From what I've seen at M3post, you would be in for one hell of a fight.
Oh the E92 M3 performs better than expected given it's relatively high weight and low torque. It's definitely a good car.

I'd love the chance to run your friend if he's willing to make the trek out here. The $5k would more than cover his travel and racing costs if he's feeling lucky. However, I just have a hard time believing that a 3600lb M3 is going to be much of a threat to my 3,250 420rwhp C6 with big R compound tires.

Impressive thread jack guys. If Zam was the OP, this would make sense but nope.
The OP brought it upon himself with the comment that the C6 got reviews for crappy handling and interior which just isn't true, certainly compared to his purchase.

If he had just said that he bought an '01 911 and posted pics and his review of the car, then I would have congratulated him and nothing more.

If someone sits in and drives a C6 and says they don't like it, then that is perfectly fine. But to make comments without any actual experience is just ignorant in my opinion.

Zam, dude, quit while you're not THAT far in the hole! Too many people here actually raced late model vettes, myself included, and can smell you talking out of your butt.

Are you going to whine about the pushrod engine next?

Hell, I learned something today.

Let's be honest, it does seem like the C6 has been getting away with "perfect car status" for a while. My presumptions were solidified today when several people jumped on me for not liking aspects of the vette. No car is perfect, otherwise we'd all drive C6s.

I wouldn't dream of criticizing the pushrod, someone may actually come to my house and murder me, my wife and kids.

What I love is how this (& most auto forums work). You say, this thing is awesome except for this aspect. The next person only sees that some stranger doesn't like this aspect of something & then he must defend the honor of that thing. Next you have another jump on the original guy and all hell breaks loose.

Lets all grow up and accept criticism for what it is, just some stranger's opinion...

People jumped on you for your incorrect performance claims and blatant dismissal, not for disliking the C6 Vette.

Your stated premises for dislike were wrong, period. You're free to dislike any car you choose but don't try and justify it with a bunch of crap or you will (and did) get called.

I can't believe how quickly this thread went into Defend my fav. car mode.

The OP's car looks great and he LOVES it. Thats all that matters.

Nice ride, but to diss the C6 on poor handling and interior is ironic in that the interior of the C6 is nicer than that 996 Carrera and has superior handling to boot.

Just finished reading all the posts in this thread...the level of ignorance it takes to write cars off because of what you've read in a magazine or heard from someone WITHOUT ACTUALLY DRIVING THE DAMN CAR never ceases to amaze me.

A 996 over a C6???....just wow....what's next....a female or black president?
