the s2k forum doesn't exactly have open arms about putting anything american in their car. as you can see from some of these posts they consider an ls1 engine a heavy piece of ****.
i think it'd be cool to try but why use a 30k car when you can already do this with a miata donor car.

dude, taking a transverse mounted engine and making it longitudinally mounted would be a lot harder then using a V8 the size of an ls-1.
