If you fall into this description; that's sad. If you worry that much about a car; don't own a sports car. Very simple. In the end, it's just a car. Get in it and drive it.

The coolest thing I have seen is:
A guy down the street from me keeps a 100+ car collection walking distance from his office. He pretty much rotates every car. Drives one to the garage, walks to work, walks back to the garage and drives another one home. F40 to work, E-type on the ride home. E-type to work, Dusenberg on the way home..

certain sports cars sacrifice so much in usability that a "normal" car is actually a more enjoyable experience as DD.

Life is too short to drive boring cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! I have to ask though, why not M3 with a family and all? Just for looks I suppose?

I actually debated, I was back and forth, but I have a 4-door Sonata as my daily so if I need the room, I'd just take that. I also like the coupe's looks slightly more
It just bugs me that there is an up-charge for the 2-door...

Why not dump that Sonata and drive this full time? With the previous M3 the gas mileage was so horrendous it made sense to keep it as a second car but these are quite a bit better.

(BTW not trying to start something, just really curious how people decide to drive around a 20k beige-mobile everyday while their 75k super-sports-coupe gathers dust in the garage, I know I couldn't do it)

It's not so much an up charge for the coupe, it's a down charge for the sedan. It doesn't have the more expensive carbon fiber roof. If you order the coupe without the roof. I'm not certain what the exact premise of this might be for those who go with the CF roof delete as I don't think that it actually saves money. Definitely do not ever get the coupe with a moon roof. It adds the weight of the moon roof AND deletes the CF. That's a double hit.

The new M3 sedan has a carbon fiber roof. No way I'd go w/ the M4, there's just no real benefit to justify (for me) the loss of practicality in giving up 2 rear doors. Plus, there's just something really kickass about a practical 4 door sedan w/ near Corvette performance.

I'm of the belief, "it's better to ask for forgiveness than it is permission"

I have dropped many hints to feel her out, shed reply with, "better not be a stick so I can at least drive it etc". She knows I wanted one and knows I've been partly bummed about getting rid of the S2000 so it's not completely out of the blue, but she sure as shit isn't going to jump for joy

I've read somewhere that you should always budget the luxuries first, then bust your ass to provide the essentials because the essentials are just that...........essential. They do nothing to add color to the room, or pleasure to your life. I thought this was great advice to be honest. I'm sure Suzzie Orman would disagree but I still max out my 401K with a company match of 10%, I can still invest a little on the side and still put into savings. (And pay mortgage, bills etc)

I can absolutely daily the M4 and if it's nice weather I will, but for the shitty weather days or snow, Ill take the Sonota. Financially, I can pay off the entire lease in cash now (of course I'm not going to) I'm in a good spot in my career and if I choose to upgrade to CA in 8 months my salary will literally double overnight. (Probably won't take the upgrade because QUality of life is killer right now as a first officer). I'm probably trying to convince myself by writing this, but it's my thinking in case anyone was wondering.

Either way, I love cars (I think we all do) and I was able to make this happen by getting a killer deal, I get a small bump in pay next month that equates to $600/month with is almost the payment.

Look, life is short. Play hard, work hard and enjoy the ride

Will report back in status of wife, I plan on telling her a week before pick up, I'm hoping she might get a little excited to pick it up at dealership

And for the record, I spent wayyyyyyyyy more money on the S2000 than I will with this car. I speant $8,000 on a goddamned DogBox for Christ sake, lol

Joey, haven't seen you in years, but you're a hard worker and you deserve the car. The way i see it, for the amount of hours at work & sitting in the Bullshit NY Metro traffic, you deserve a nice car.

Also its better (IMO) to buy a more expensive car than to modify a car into being very expensive.

Thanks bud! And you're right. I spent sooooo much money on the S2000 that towards the end, I literally drove it to the track maybe 5x a year and that's all I drove it. Now I can have lots of torque, fit the family and have a super comfortable ride wherever I go

I can't believe the s2k is gone, did you part it out or did it go to another passionate gear head?

Will you mod the M4? Even if it is just a reflash? Can you flash it back to stock for warranty stuff?

I'm not in a rush but I'm sure I will there is sooo much potential, way too tempting. It's BS though, some exhausts are like $5,000 GMAFB, it's a BMW, not a Ferrari
