The Porsche does everything very well though, not to take anything away from it, just the styling of Ferrari and motor noises I find intoxicating. on another level.
No doubt, Ferrari is in a higher league, one that I'm not willing to allocate that much $$$ to.

A friend of mine recently bought an F360 for $80K. I do some financial consulting from him from time to time, and was suggesting he sell it b/c the funds would be better invested in his business. He said it really didn't cost much, b/c he could get his money back at any time. I then asked how much he'd spent on maint. and repairs. He said a lot. I pushed him for a #, and he said about $22K. He's owned it somewhere between 6-12 months. It looks and sounds amazing, but I'll stick to my rock-solid reliable Porsche that requires an occasional $200 oil change.

Another friend changed his rad. cap on his 348 (his first Ferrari) and ended up w/ a blown water pump (mechanic explained that perhaps the cap upset the delicate balance of everything wearing at the same rate) and ended up w/ a $3K repair bill.

Unless you're filthy rich, beware...

That's definitely not me!! I'm on a frugal trip with cars at the moment. But thanks for sharing the hard numbers. Just curious, is he using an independent shop? I remember my used E36 M required 9k in service within the first 6 months, and was under 15k.

honda couldn't ever package up together in one hunk of plastic/metal bits.
I want to love the NSX really bad, but I'd need to sink money into it with a stroker motor and suspension, cosmetic upgrades to get it where I'd be happy and it will still fail as a Ferrari clone. The tricky part is some years have the non-EPS, some have the targa, some have the 6-speed, it just gets complicated, more so than most Acuras, S2000's - which are more accessory-based as far as differences. Although, the bigger question is would it really remain true to its form.

Not sure, but here's a link to his for sale ad if you want to ask...
