i prefer the s over the z4, hence i have an s2000 and not a z4, but the only way you can make an informed decision is to test one out and seeif you like it more than the s. If you do, then get the z4.

I've driven a bunch of the old 3.0 Z4s, both SMG and 6 speed models. I'd take my S2000 anyday over those cars. The newer 3.0Si models do have more power than the previous generation, I haven't driven those yet.

However, I have driven the Z4M and I can say unequivocally that is was the best roadster I've driven to date. It's not as sharp as the S2000 but my god is it fast, sounds great, and I think it looks like sex. Get a Z4M.

as an employee of a BMW dealership

stick to the S

there just too expensive

and if you do buy one get the make sure its brand new that way you get the 4yr/50k warranty. cuz after that its freakin expensive to maintain

get the 3.0si z4

but they do have more room then s2000 and dont get me wrong they are comfortable but dont nearly shift as smooth as the s either

i test drove a z4 and didn't care for it. but if you want one, you can get good deals on them now. there's a dealership in los angeles advertising them on the radio for 10k off msrp.

which dealership? and is the discount on M models? They are sitting on the dealers' lots collecting dust.

I test drove the Z4 3.0 and the S2000 within a couple of days. Yes, I thought the Z4 had a lot more room (I am a skinny guy), but the drive is definitely not as good as the S2000. To me the S2000's steering feels a lot better. I M models have the same steering system from the M3, so are supposed to be better than the regular Z4s

Z4's tranny feels like shit compared to the S2K.

Just try it out.

Sorry but once you're used to shifting hard in an S2000 everything else feels like crap, especially BMW trannies.
