Right.

I get that. It's just that the main reason Rotas started catching flak in the FIRST PLACE was because they're knock-off designs. And it was only then that people started looking for other reasons to dislike them. This article is pretty much dismissing the biggest issue many people have with Rotas as if it's an afterthought.

I guarantee that if Rota only produced original designs at the same cost, nobody would've bitched about them being cast at all.
Yup. When I hear Rota, I think knockoff. No complains on their quality or price, but they are blatantly copying the most popular styles. Not cool.

I've owned 2 sets and didn't have a problem. They both took a pounding at the track and autocross.

How was the weight compared to the stock wheels? When I got my brother in-law to ditch his Rotas for the stock STi BBS wheels, I noticed the 17x8 Rota Drags he had were pretty heavy.

I am not a fan of rotas but I don't have any kind of hatred for them either. I think they are decent in regards to design and structure for their price. There are a lot of wheels out there that are worse and no one talks crap about them (search discount tire for wheels for our car and look what comes up or look at the crap wheels that are advertised in automotive magazines). And as far as the cracking issue, I have seen ap2 wheels crack, it happens, usually due to an accident.
