They're all gay, and 350Z owners are primarily male?

Because the 350Z is the new car in town and Nissan specifically called out the S2000 on the 350Z brouchre.

So what, next year we'll start threads about the RX-8 and how it "jocks" the S2000. (Oh, wait, we already have threads about that)

I mean, here's a car, spawned much from the S2k's philosophy of no frills, affordable, yet serious sports car. It also needs to live up to the Z history of racing with the best.

In sports car terms, it appears to be a direct competitor, but with a fixed roof, and a horribly large motor that strikes fear into the little ole overacheiving 2 liters. But, it's not, because the folding roof and our 9k redline is unique, and can't be touched.
That is part of my whole reason for not understanding this mentality! As far as I am concerned, anyone with an S2K has a small piece of automobile history. I really applaud Honda for going out on a limb and designing/producing such a split from the boring, drab market that exists today.

I think that a majority of you guys (here in the Car Talk forum) have your heads a little more planted. I think there are quite a few S2K owners that are content in their "S2K is god" bubble.

I didn't know that Nissan was directly going after the S2K. Interesting...

The example with the RX-8 is exactly what I am talking about. Some call it pride, but I think there is a little something else mixed in there.

Great handle, "I am Jack's..."

I know exactly what you mean. I don't understand the focus on the 350Z either... I guess it's just the "new kid on the block" factor.

The whole thging makes me very

I'm either buying an S2000 or a 350Z. I am leaning about 90% towards the S2000. All because of one thing. The S2000 was built from the ground up as a pure sports car.
