Because the 350Z is the new car in town and Nissan specifically called out the S2000 on the 350Z brouchre.
So what, next year we'll start threads about the RX-8 and how it "jocks" the S2000. (Oh, wait, we already have threads about that)

In sports car terms, it appears to be a direct competitor, but with a fixed roof, and a horribly large motor that strikes fear into the little ole overacheiving 2 liters. But, it's not, because the folding roof and our 9k redline is unique, and can't be touched.

I think that a majority of you guys (here in the Car Talk forum) have your heads a little more planted. I think there are quite a few S2K owners that are content in their "S2K is god" bubble.

The example with the RX-8 is exactly what I am talking about. Some call it pride, but I think there is a little something else mixed in there.

Great handle, "I am Jack's..."
I know exactly what you mean. I don't understand the focus on the 350Z either... I guess it's just the "new kid on the block" factor.
The whole thging makes me very

I'm either buying an S2000 or a 350Z. I am leaning about 90% towards the S2000. All because of one thing. The S2000 was built from the ground up as a pure sports car.
