I loved the pure exige driving experince, but it's to much every day for me and most I suspect. The idea of doing Leeds to London would fill me with dread.

Horses for courses and all that

I'm turning a nice shade of green here and it won't be cured until I get the noddy car out at Snetterton on Thursday

If I'm still off work on the 2nd June and I don't end up driving myself I may still come up and cadge some passenger laps from you lot

Have a look on you tube at the Larini Elise vids, the best sound to have
been engineered from 4 cyls, even a K series.

Russ.

Ok I have not driven the car for a long while, and blew out the cobwebs today

Holy crap it's fast on tight roads. It absolutely launches you out of bends.

But I tried a new thing today I turned off the TC for the first time, and used it in anger.

2 things struck me.

Firstly it becomes a lot more interesting, and i'd say a good bit quicker. It is still very composed, but you can feel the wheels spinning up and the back wanting to move when you push it. The TC must be reasonably intrusive / safe.

Secondy, given the above, it shows how well the TC works. I drove home from Donny in the pouring rain and was doing silly things with the throttle pedal, but the T/C just cuts out any nonsense, and you can't even feel it happening.

Now i've got used to it i'm going to start leaving the TC off unless it's raining.

Tomorrow I will be removing the ECU and injectors ready for an upgrade. The standard setup only allows the throttle to open about 60% - but my new ECU allows 100% and fuelling to match. Much more power

It certainly doesn't need it, in fact I think it will be a bit nuts - but I thought why not.

Off to Spa with it early August so that will be fun and will help me get more confident with it.

Is the TC not staged? (off/5%/10%/20%)
IIRC it is a Racelogic?

I've yet to drive as capable a car in the wet. The Exige S I drove which was the same colour as yours and had T/C fitted. It made driving in the cold/wet so easy and was cutting in all the time, although I didn't notice. It wasn't until about 15 minutes into the journey that the salesman showed me the light and then I realised how often it had been coming on.

I've realised a slight handling problem I've had recently had on mine was a screw in each rear tyre! The car is just immense, the fact that you can have such an issue and not die in it! I knew there was a problem, but thought it was just the pressures that were a bit off.

Just on of off Mikey, Lotus factory fit option. Not sure if it's Racelogic or not, but I suspect it may be.

BB - I also like it in the wet. The Semi Slick Yokohama's are actually ok! I've always liked driving quickly in the wet though.

Me too, I still grimace a bit when I hit standing water due to memories of the shocking performance of the S2K when it hit a puddle.

I think the new T/C has launch control and is fully adjustable. It certainly was in the 2Eleven I was in, and I'm sure the salesman was trying to punt me an Exige S which had the same system.

Yep the new S has quite a few extra toys, and the Super Sport package has the big AP's and forged ally wheels too!

Maybe a bit overkill but I was tempted by one which Xtreme were selling. Couldn't be arsed travelling in the end and opted for the dealer found the corner.

Just install a tracelogic unit. Personal experience btw.
