i doubt it was a lightweight Nick. we do look after a dark grey Coupe that is all steel and only has period mods, reg no 130HPO.
a proper lightweight will tip the scales at a little over a 1000kgs with over 350bhp
CUT7 is in next week for an engine freshen up and is the first lightweight Jaguar made but from thin gauge steel for the monocouqe and aluminium for the doors, bonnet , boot etc. it pre dates the 12 jaguar made aluminium lightweights (we have two of them in the workshop at the moment).
Cat Out Of The Bag is a very interesting book about Peter Wilsons time at the competition department at Jaguar in the early 60's. and has CUT7 on the front cover. worth a read if your'e an E type fan

I think it could have been 130HPO - it's just without the bumpers etc, the nose looked uncannily like a lightweight.
The performance is probably about right too - a real lightweight would've left me for dead at 1250 kgs and 237 bhp!
