How do folks around here manage to compare an s2000 to a mini...the only thing they have in common is 4 wheels .

you might just find you can go faster to the point of impending doom.
My use of the phrase "impending doom" may have been excessive, on reflection.

Ridiculous!!
What did you honestly expect on the S2K forum? You will probably get a much warmer reception to your new purchase at www.mini2.com .....

All driving gods are banned from this thread from now on. This is a thread for those mere mortals who have spun their S and had it wander off in directions previously thought impossible, and if you drive the car on days other than summer Sundays in the sun, then you'll probably know what we mean.
Sorry, i have to comment on this. I do not proclaim to be a driving god by any means, but my S2000 was a daily driver for 2 years (30,000 miles) and I drove it in rain snow ice and never lost control or spun it (granted on one snowy occasion had to abandon it). Not because I am a driving god, but because I just took it easy if the conditions did not suit. Basically, if the road appears to be slippery then no VTEC. It is simple and no matter what you drive the same sort of approach should apply.

I do, however, fully sympathize with anyone who struggles in these conditions in a car like this. Although I never had an accident that is not to say that I was not nervous whilst driving in these conditions. I am lucky enough that I now have a daily driver and the S2000 only comes out on nice days for a bit of fun, but I can understand why, if this is not an option, people may choose to replace it as a daily driver.

For a while, until I was able to get a more sensible car, I actually drove a £600 1.2 Corsa around rather than get rid of the S2000 - I would recommend the same approach to anyone else selling should be a last resort if you love it as much as I do.
Oh perlease! S2000's can't even go in straight lines without wanting to go sideways. Driving one of those things is like taking a randy dog for a walk! It wants to go everywhere!

Yeah yeah! Tyres! Geo! Locusts! Blah...

3 years, 60k all weather driving, Nurburgring etc, and I never had a single bang (mind you the face on that poor BMW driver that morning I approached at high speed - sideways, will live with me forever). Something like this: --> A true comedy moment.

Steering a 911 it is not. Steering a Sainsbury's shopping trolley with one wonky wheel - it's much closer to, and I can't wait to get another one. Fun\cost, it just can't be beat.

Good point - I may have to Geo the Mini when I get it. Save myself from impending doom.

you have to have all the wheels toe out so the correct "fast mince" setup is achieved.
