Just watched Quali as I was busy today, but the people who wrote off McLaren can put that result in their pipe and smoke it!

But what a fantastic result for Vettel, that guy is on fire, he was almost a second faster than P3! Unbelievable.

I was VERY impressed by Di Resta today, as well as Kobayashi and Petrov who had an electrifying qualifying session. But oh my goodness what has happened to Massa? I really hope Massa gets his mojo back, he lost it since his accident and I really hope he can get it back. Alonso looked like he was struggling with the car as well, I am sure he will be strong tomorrow though however, particularly with these tyres which seem to be really mixing it up.

Sutil's save, I take my hat off to that!

Wow, what an exciting start to the season!

I can't understand purposely designing tyres which degrade.
"to make the race more interesting" - poor quality components is not the way. Surely F1 should be the pinnacle of engineering and design.

Pirelli must be carefully monitoring customer reaction for their road tyres. I'm sure some people will not buy the brand because they aren't as good as the Bridgestones from last year.

The overtaking aids didn't do enough. We need big fat sticky slicks, less dependency on aero packages and cars that can drive inches apart, maybe even some better circuits too.

Unlikely since his Mojo is currently driving for Mercedes. Schumacher was always one to help Massa from when he retired and I don't think he can manage so well without that coaching.

Great race today, shame with Button, but a great race for Perez and Petrov. Great comeback for McMerc as well.

I do think if the cars had to refuel, with these tyres, it would make strategy absolutely amazing and the race much more exciting.

Amazing to see the pace of RBR cars was without KERS! Unbelieveable.

The moveable rear wing did nothing for overtaking really. Bit of a red herring I fear. We will see how we get on in Malaysia and further races.

Overall, its great to be back!

PS Did anyone get shivers down their spine when the BBC "This is Formula 1" intro came on and then The Chain? So much WIN!

I detest those stupid intros.

BBC4 right now has Grand Prix: The Killer Years (just caught the end of a 60 years of F1 programme).

Yeh I am watching the killer years, amazing how far the cars have come on.

Really? I think they make it, especially after such a long hiatus. Ah well, must be a marmite thing!
