The Formula 1 Thread - 2012
and some on VHS too....
however I have managed to get hold of a copy of the full 1970 Monaco and 1973 Germany races. (in French and German respectively).
Not a bad start for Sky.
Agree though that ads are too many and too long. Thank god for Sky+. Do we know if the race will have ads like ITV did some years back...if so I will be certainly recording the race and watching it later.
A couple of observations....
- does Damon really need to sit there with his legs splayed wide open all the time,
(or maybe he's got a hard on for Georgie)
- like the virtual car. bet BBC dont have one of them
- Sky seem to have a lot more access with the teams than BBC or ITV ever did. Hope that stays like that throughout the season as it makes it so much more personal.

The virtual car was good, but the lead presenter belongs in a Next catalogue or a late night gambling show.
The bit with the d1ckhead roaming around the pitlane was almost unbearable.
The actual race multimedia does look very good though.

I still can't bring myself to fork out 30 quid a month just to watch a few F1 races... thieving bastards
Still a darn sight cheaper than an actual race weekend tickets .....its Mr Ecclestone that I think is the thieving git here....
anyway, who said anything enjoyable is cheap in this life. I'm just looking forward to another great season and putting my feet up in front of the TV on a Sunday afternoon. although wife is a bit miffed there is now a full time channel to watch
she says she will be rationing my viewing privilages...
Anyone going to any races in person this year.? we've bit the bullet (and the ticket price) and are off to Monaco. Havn't decided if it will be a jaunt down in the S yet. might do it by train and take in some of France on the way down.
also considering Silverstone again.
I also think they'll lose a lot of viewers by having done this, which can't be good for the sport.
Yes I know, only Prac 1, but interesting.
Seems that Mercedes have a passive RWS device. RB is being his usual coy self though
McLaren's looks good, as do the Saubers.
Caterham performance has yet to be seen, but I don't think it'll be enough to be troubling the midfield. Petrov was about 13 years behind Kovi.
Red Bull have obviously played it slow and steady.
The only certainty is that the Ferrari's look absolutely awful.

Haven't read up the thread above so sorry if this has already been discussed here,
but apparently the Sky F1 channel goes out free-to-air in Germany.
So, as has been done - and ok legally - by some UK pubs,
My electrician is trying to get the sat's signal.
If I hear any news I shall advise ...
