The Formula 1 Thread - 2012
I'm finding the Sky coverage far too Playstation generation - particularly the pre-show. Not too keen on adverts either.
But not missing Eddie Jordan, so undecided which channel to watch when the BBC are broadcasting.

Yesterdsay my skydish was realigned to Astra 1 and watching the live coverage on RTL this morning with Radio 5 commentary worked really well (being able to pause the TV and the internet radio made syncing the live coverage and English commentary easy). The Red Bulls and the McLarens didn't do much but I was really hoping Perez would take Alonso during those final few laps! Massa must be out, if not for the next race, following another duff race.
Massa's probably still there because Alonso says so, he needs a compliant number 2 and doesn't want any competition..
just imagine Perez snapping at his heels like Lewis did..
however constructor points are also important, so Luca D M might act..
btw, does anybody else find Grosjean highly annoying -
seems to randomly bump into people in lap 1- 3 of his races and then always immediately blames the others..
twice this season, and previously taking Jenson out at Spa..

So I watched the first half this morning, then recorded the BBC show and watched that this evening, sadly not being able to stay spoiler free through the day because it would have been a bit of a thriller.
Perez lost it through not pitting the same lap as Alonso. If he'd pitted the lap earlier, he'd have probably been a comfortable 4 or 5 seconds ahead with more pace. Shame really. But still a great result, and that Ferrari contract is looking closer. You have to wonder if Ferrari-Ferrari are thinking about an in-season swap with Sauber-Ferrari.
Hamilton again wasn't really in the race once he slipped away from the lead, and Button made a stupid mistake against that HRT.
But what the hell was going on with Red Bull? "Box box box, we're going to retire". "Stay out, stay out, stay out". "Emergency, stop the car". Have they had a major falling out with two different engineers fighting for the microphone, or were they having a bit of a laugh because the radio wasn't working? All seemed very strange.

Very pleased for Senna today! There was a point pre-season where he might not have had a drive. Williams seems like a good step up, he just needs to nock a few results together and not crash
Is it just me or was Vettel behaving like a spoilt brat in his post-race interview re: the HRT?
I'm still trying to work out who was at fault for the incident, but looking at the racing line, it seems to me that it was Vettel who cut across.
And the fact he did something quite similar to Webber 3 years ago (and blamed Webber for it, even though I think he was at fault there too) smacks of hypocrisy.
