Looks to be more serious than the teams statement makes out. They are now talking about life-threatening injuries

"The car suddenly accelerated". Which makes it sound like a mechanical failure, like a stuck throttle. Sounds serious, and obviously F1 cars aren't really designed with crashing into lorries in mind.

The reports are saying the helmet took most of the impact. Which is not nice.

The report I heard said that the car had stopped and she was calling the crew over when it suddenly shot forward hitting the transporter, after the impact all you could hear was the crew calling for an ambulance, not nice.

I wonder what they were testing with this car that had her in it! and if it was a regular car I dont think the should be allowed to race in F1. Do you think the FIA will investigate?

I have heard stories that it was an Anti-stall failure.

From a conversation I had on Thursday night, albeit someone whose name I cannot mention but needless to say is reasonably well connected in F1.

Webber to Ferrari, Hamilton to Red Bull for 2013.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure why Ferrari would want Webber, unless it was as is rumoured a 1 year deal to fill time until they get Vettel in 2014.

I can't help feeling it'd do Hamilton some good to drive for a different team.

Certainly wouldn't surprise me, there's been a lot of talk about the former. And I can't think of a more appropriate replacement for Webber into red bull. Di resta into the spare McLaren seat?
