That sounds like he's guaranteed a seat, if he wants it, and if Ferrari perform well enough in 2013. So basically he has a choice between Red Bull and Ferrari depending on who's likely to perform the best.

I suspect he's hedging his bets for when the new engines have been introduced. Who knows who's going to have the best car/engine combo at that time.
