It's a little sad that the ERS (not KERS) is going to be computer controlled, which means the driver won't be able to use it tactically as we've seen to good effect in recent years.

Very interesting things going on at McLaren.

Whitmarsh's days are numbered, and I would be surprised if we don't see Ross Brawn in as Team Principal very soon.

Changes had to be made.

Good to hear that Big Ron is back in charge. Since he moved away from the F1 side of things, the teams fortunes have dropped off. Just a shame we won't see Ron sat on the pit wall again

The idea of Ross Brawn joining McLaren sounds like a perfect partnership

A chance for Honda, RB and JB to conclude their unfinished business from 2009?

I'm looking forward to more "Ron Speak" during 2014

Can't see it myself. Ross Brawn is going to want total control, which he's not going to get with Ron Dennis looking over his shoulder.

What unfinished business? They won both championships, and sold the team. That's about as finished business as you can get.

Whitmarsh just doesn't have that last few percent of leadership that wins against the likes of Redbull. 2012 showed that even with the fastest car, and one of if not the best drivers in the form of his life, their operations were not up to scratch against an outfit as slick as the Bulls.

Ron doesn't warrant being let off the hook completely though. 2007 they had the best or joint best car and best 2 drivers yet threw everything away, 2008 they scraped through by the skin of their teeth.

New blood is needed and I'm not sure it's Brawn, how many years has he realistically got left?

He's not a professional footballer, he's an F1 team manager.
And he only just turned 59!

Yes currently right here right now I'm confident his leadership is up there with the best. But Ron Dennis was leading McLaren since the early 80's. Whitmarsh was meant to be a long term successor. Even if Brawn has enough years left in him to be a top team principle, I suspect he probably has aspirations above that in his future.

Yeah it's not so much age, but I think with enough desire Brawn will go to Mclaren, him and Dennis if they can work together will be a formidable team, and JB will be wanting to do it for his dad this year, plenty of motivation and desire there, plus he would be with his 'WC winning team mate Brawn' if it went ahead, Mclaren will be a force this year for sure.
