The Formula 1 Thread - 2014
Yes but clearly more fuel flow than was allowed means more performance than he should have had, so they can't let that go.
Good race I thought, even though there wasn't much racing for the front, but at least it wasn't the usual car. I'm finding I quite like the sound already; never heard tyre screech in F1 before and being able to hear the drivers and whoever they have on the pitlane is all good.
Shame Bottas hit the wall and Kobaycrashi wiped out Massa.

That would be a real shame, but they were very clear on zero tolerance.

My personal opinion about the changes its abit boring at the moment. I know its the first race but the cars just sound slow. I was really hoping to have it like the old school formula 1 turbo days but it is nothing like that. I think the FIA have dropped abit of a clanger because a change to turboed hybrid engines would of been enough for one season let alone all the other rule changes.
Looks like Ricciardo is going to get thrown out of second place:

Looks like we have our first major F1 controversy of the year:
It seems these fuel flow meters have been causing problems for everyone, and Red Bull decided they knew better than the FIA. They were asked during the race to turn down the fuel flow, but refused (so not exactly zero-tolerance).

They've been through so much controversy, protests and worked round the sprit of the rules so many times that I would have been happy for something to be done but this had damaged the sport.
The stewards have no choice obviously but part of me does want their appeal to succeed.
