Me too, but maybe with a different interpretation of the word delicacy
Seriously, have you driven a Cayman?

There is that...Boxster yes; Cayman no.
When circumstances are right, I shall probably have another go. They tend to change every few minutes.

I drove one (Cayman S) last weekend and my conclusions were the same.
It's a very nice car but it's very refined and you really have to be going at license losing speeds to really have any fun in it.
Yes, the steering and handling are good, and the engine makes an ok noise (I'm not a fan of boxer engines - too Beetley for me) but it just lacks the "fun factor".
I'm sure it's great on a track and the refinement is great for use as an every day car, but there was no sense of occasion. See the NSX thread for more of a write-up.

It's actually a very good car, despite its arse going up n' down and it feels a bit churlish to damn it with faint praise, but there it is.
Looks much better in the picture Bada has posted above compared to the earlier ones I saw.
Suspect it will be even better in the flesh, although that boot gap in the spoiler is slightly annoying.

Tim - you work at Lotus? Legend
What bit? I get the impression they are a very interesting place to work for. Certainly as a customer you get the feeling you have access to all the technical people you need very easily through the dealer. Very refreshing. They also seem interested in customer feedback.

Which is different to your previous statement of "unlike the Europa mess they rushed out to use up all the VX220 bits".
You're still wrong, although getting warmer.
(before you start maintaining you're right - I work at Lotus so know what really went on)

Go on then, I'm repeating what I've read either online or in magazines from other Lotus "insiders"!
Actually, over the years, I have come to suspect "insiders" say something for a laugh, or the press just makes it up on the spot.
There are sooo many rumours that are just bollocks, but that I suppose sound plausible at the time. They are later to be found without substance.
