If you are an 'enthusiastic' road driver i guarantee they are poor on a STD M3, I know the CSL set up is slightly different but again if it was for track then you would definately need to upgrade.

Check out www.m3forum.net and you will see 99% of owners say the same.

The perfect track car IMO.
You're not serious are you?

I can think of any number of cars more suited to the track than a saloon weighing well over a tonne.

I love listening to the crazy Japs. I don't know what they are saying, but you just know they are having fun The power of the M5 6 mins is is pretty amazing - after a nice drift!
7:46 in Tsuchiya drifting the whole back corner.

The tests may be meaningless but still good entertainment. I'll lend you the english version when i see you Mark.

Should have explained that better

It's the only car I can think of for the money that I would actually enjoy driving to the track, on the track and then back home. Would be such a great car to drive to the Ring with luggage and back.

Very good point

The same was said about my brakes. I think they are fantastic
I thought the Z4M had the CSL brakes which I would imagine that on the Z4M would be pretty special, especially for on the road driving?

My old S3 had terrible brakes, and after about 20 minutes of fun country road driving would really suffer with fade.

The csl is without doubt a corking piece of kit but would it feel like a 3 series from the passenger seat? i like the roadster feel you get in cars like the S, the mx5 etc.. wedge yourself in like a wee fighter pilot. maybe i'm nuts?

i've never owned an uber saloon, i did look at the M3 when i bought my S but that was the previous version and it did not feel at all special despite being quick. I also drove a couple of scoobies and didn't like them either despite the very obvious pace.

i haven't bought a car in 1 month shy of 6 years .. next thing i buy will be a bike i think

oh and i have cooked the S brakes being silly on the road but with uprated pads it's fine. track is a completely different story, i've cooked the better pads on a track (i think i actually brake too much, i'm not pretending i'm Hamilton )
