That road can be incredibly dangerous if you're not aware of the chicane round the blind bend - there were unmarked roadworks there a few years ago - a biker went into the back of another bike which had stopped at the temporary lights.

Unfortunately, having the bullies threaten to take away one's freedom to drive and not being able to effect retribution DOES mar the enjoyment a bit. The money helps keep the ineffectual little lambs in jobs they are qualified to do, so it's charity, really. I'd rather choose a more deserving one though.

You can tippy-toe for a while. Just that one day you forget... The points system generally leaves a curse on you for a while, it's how I felt anyway.
I've still found it hard to fathom whopping horsepower cars on our roads today. I think lots of roads are crappy surfaced & pot-holed (with sunken manhole covers to add) to even think about hooning. It's become "unfashionable" to speed, too overcrowded and even on Sunday mornings, one's eyes have to be ultra-peeled on that Countryside blat to avoid any unsuspecting cyclist 'round the corner.
Maybe there needs to be more deserted runways, perhaps one in every county. Then at least you'd get your fix in your ballsy steed.
Or track days should be cheaper....

All true.
Also, a lot of plodders now drive 5-10 mph BELOW the speed limit, which adds to the frustration. Do they think that GATSOs take points OFF if you do that? Be great if they did.
I noticed when I was pricing up next years insurance recently, that a lot of insurers now ask you to declare whether or not you have been on a speed awareness course in the last 3/5 years.
Pretty much negating the point of them, unless you're worried about accumulating 12 points.

I wonder if setting up a placard by the vans would be deemed 'perving the course of justice'

Then again, I'm pretty sure warning signs are generally put up...

My brother and his family are due up tomorrow for a visit. On the phone, my nephew let slip that his Dad now has 6 points, 3 for speeding and 3 for "something else". All earned on the same day apparently.
I'll grill him when he gets here ...

I would suggest that you don't be too argumentative. If they think you're not entering into the spirit of the course or undermining their teaching they'll threaten to ask you to leave .
However, on the course i went on healthy debate was encouraged as long as you appeared to tow the line at the end. I found the course pretty constructive over all.
