184 mph

Been thinking about doing a 'Ring' trip in my new car, just trying to get some friends interested!

Saw a 1 Series M-Sport in white going round while we were at one of the corners watching.. looked good! Have you got yours now?

Yeah, autobahn speeds are good fun but require plenty of concentration looking ahead to see what cars are doing!

Nice writeup and pics

I plan to do a few UK track days before I think about venturing to the Ring.
The one track day I have done at Bedford made me greedy for more The next one is at Angelsey late June

I know what you mean about how easy its gets up to 160mph and that is a very trusting mate you have also

Thanks! It was good fun, plenty of driving and a reasonable amount of drinking! Good thing was we didnt have ridiculous distances to cover so we didnt have any early starts!

I loved the Cayman, drove it all day on Monday from Frankfurt to the Ring, at the Ring and then the jounrey back to Calais. Easy to drive on the road, great fun on the track and very responsive, even in 6th from 40mph! And makes a great noise although outdone easily by the noise of the AMV8!

I like Boxsters but actually prefer the old model to the new one. They have only recently (last year) put the 3.4 engine in instead of the 3.2 one. The Cayman i would imagine is a better drive but cant compare. With a bit more power, the Cayman would be up there with the 911 easily in performance terms, which is perhaps why Porsche have kept it to 290 something bhp...! The chasis could certainly handle more power!
