Still start high, ask them for a full refund and that they should pay the shipping back to UK for the engine.

Of course they will say no to this, but to get yourself a reasonable settlement, you need to start at a high position.
Again Lee thank you for your help and advise I totaly agree. I will start high.

But if we end up for a partial refund and keeping the engine diff and transmission what is a good amount for setlement? Bear in mind i was never going to buy an engine with so many miles. The reason i bought it was for the low milaeage. I have no idea what i can get back in this situation since never happened to me.Can you please tell me your opinion or point me in a realistic refund i can get?

Dewsbury is in West Yorkshire

If you go the the dealer's web site it tells you where

IIRC our member Fletch lives in Ossett, not many miles from Dewsbury

PM?
Yeah.
They are just up the road from me, but to be honest I didn't even know they were there.

If I can help in any way I will.
(But bear in mind. I'm a total pussy when it comes to negotiations )

Just wondering (and at the risk of perhaps stating the bleeding obvious...)... I seem to remember you saying that the engine you've been sent is quite grotty-looking - and, as such, UNLIKE the nice clean one in the EBay item photos..... Could you maybe post a photo of the upper part of your engine here ALONG WITH the EBay pic of the engine from the item description for comparison?? IF they are BLATANTLY different in appearance, then surely that comprises a start as regards the fact that you haven't been provided with engine shown in the EBay item photos??

RON
Ron,

You are right I left this part of evidence to ask the guy later.First i replied in his e-mail for the best setlement for me to see what he will respond. When i contact him the first time i saw the advert he told me the engine is like new, you can come and i can start it up for you. But he knew i was calling from Greece

The only problem is that the photo in the ebay is not such a good quality so don't know if you can see the rusted parts and the grotty-looking . I will take pictures on Friday (i have the engine and the rest of the parts in my mothers house 1 hour away from me) and i will upload them to tell me your opinion Might be an extra evidence.

Chris

The ebay link in the first post is very misleading on what is actually up for auction so I don't think you can go on that ... and as you said you negotiated everything over the phone.
please note this auction is for a
Honda S2000 WHEEL NUT.

Exactly, this guy seems very dodgy to me.

That kind of Ebay advert is usually some kind of rip off.

Although i have over 270, 100% positive feedbacks on e-bay, i have to say i never thought a braker with this feedback will be so dodgy
