Thinking about going to Quali for the British GP.

Any guidance as to what General Admission is like?

Other alternative is the Porsche Centre hospitality, hosted by VBH

I know quite a few of you have been. What's the crack?

I'm going for the full 3 days! Its a mates stag do, going down Thursday night and we got the £130 3 day general admission tickets (which have long been sold out). Looking forward to it, not been to an F1 race before but will be packing some ear plugs as saw a Renault F1 at Donnington and it was bloody loud!

It's mega busy and the facilities are shite. Don't wear sandles in the Gents.

I don't need to think about it, I'm going ...

Flying down to Bristol to stay with my brother and family and then setting off early on Saturday with him and my 9 year old nephew.

I went three years on the bounce back in the Mansell days (when I lived in Northamptonshire), the final visit for race day as well. Certainly back then, we just rocked up and bought tickets at the gate, although my brother has bought this year's tickets online. In previous years, we also just bought roving stand tickets on the day at the gate. We'll try and do that again but if they're all sold out, so be it. I don't remember qualifying as being that busy whereas on race day, the place was rammed.

That's exactly why I'm choosing Quali. I just want to experience F1 in the flesh. I think the races are probably better experienced on TV anyway.

I went once in 87 when Mansell won, he ran out of fuel about 100 yards
from us on his parade lap. No fencing then either.

I think we're going to go down for quali too.

£75 general admission and £15 for a car park ticket (as long as there are 2 or more in the car)

We've been to the GP at Silverstone many times, Saturday is often the better day as it's quieter and you can get to see more.

On the Saturday general admission is fine, you can just find a spot to stand and watch the cars. I recommend seeing them through Becketts at some point during the day - the direction changes are incredible

Still considering it - it's Amanda's birthday on the Sat and our wedding anniversary on the Sunday (she loves going to the F1), so I think we may look for a posh hotel on the way back on Saturday night.

I've been 2 out of the last 3 years - what an awesome weekend!!! I've sat at Farm and also on Loughfield B ( I think that's what it was anyway) and the view from both was great. Enjoy - wish I was going this year - would be good to see Button and Hamilton clean up at their home circuit.

Bass- that sounds like a good idea, sure she'll appreciate it. Incidentally it's also my hubbie's birthday on the saturday too. I've bought us both 3 day passes as his present. Haven't been to Silverstone for about 10 years. Were at Spa last year so it will struggle to match that!
