What would replace it? Probably an early convertible MR2.

But as an automatic on 14" tyres, this is just lovely to drive - and as with S2000s .... there are not a lot of good ones out there. I think it's worth spending a little more yet to get the arch rot cut out and re-welded. The condition of everything else warrants that.
Got quite nostalgic reading this thread. Reminded me of the JDM that I bought back in 2008, straight off the boat with zero rot. Other than cleaning the roof drains and liberating about a gallon of water, we had no problems with it.
That is untill SWBO was T Boned by a Beemer and punted into a hedge. She OK, Del Sol not so good.
Was a lovely car to drive.

Sadly, crash resistant they are not. No double skins or impact protection / crumple zones or a million air bags. That's one of the reasons i don't mind that this isn't the faster one.

Also picked up a set of US one piece clear lense headlights. Now off to source some Morimoto Mini Projectors and a decent HID kit. That's another couple of weeks worth of project time and will do away with the useless H4H JDM fitment headlights. We'll keep those as spares for the other Sol in the house as they are in really really good condition.

Missed that wheel update. Look proper decent. Buying from Germany is always good and no (bad) surprises.
Perhaps less so with the big corporates but the smaller traders are dead honest.

Bi's tend to be a bit weak on range beam compared to a proper four-headlight set-up.

Use its nostrils for some additional range lights?

Thing is Nick the current dipped are so bad the chances are ill never need or use the main part of the new ones except to flash stuff. Already got high powered in the nostrils but the beam pattern is a jdm duffer
