Wow!

That looks amazing (as per my post in your other thread).

Think it needs a different colour interior though, maybe too much black?

Anyone worried about the cost of running a M3 shouldn't contemplate buying one. They can bite you hard when you least expect it. BMW are very strict about the warranty situation. I should know as before the M3 I bought a brand new 330ci, and after three years I had to consider renewing and encountered a lot of red tape.

If a S2000 warranty has lapsed (after three years) can you still buy one from Honda?

bit of a mantra but I'll say it anyway

cars with a high initial purchase price

usually have commensurate running costs

these costs usually increase in inverse proportion to the decreasing value of the car

I think that's right........

I worry about the running costs of buying any car until I fully understand the implications. There are many scare stories our there about certain makes and models.

M cars are pricey to run, but IMO it is as simple as off-setting the monthly cost of running the car against the amount paid to purchase the car.

With the right protection through a good warranty and the correct due diligence prior to purchase e.g. manufacturer approved used car, AA vehicle inspection, full dealer service history with all receipts, it is possible to find the 'right' car.

The harsh reality of owning one though is this. After three years, the warranty expires. This means forking out over

I know money is all relative but when you sit outside looking in on an ownership proposition like that, its a little bit scary.

I agree, the costs can mount up.

I am personally going to look at a 1 year old car with at least 18-24 months warranty left. I am happy to pay for the 3rd warranty and then build up 'warranty' issues to justify one claim rather than many.

Buying tires on the Internet and also getting good reputable independents to do pad's and disc's also reduces a fair bit from the overall costs. However I would only ever use BMW to service.

I disagree.

A main dealer stamp may mean more to Joe Pubic (sic), come selling, but the over-inflated MD pricing structure (
