Years ago, we had the police knock on our door because a lollipop lady had reported us (The Man was driving). She complained that we did not stop when she wanted us to.
We put a counter complaint against her for holding up traffic excessively.

The situation was this: bottom of the Rossendale Valley, pedestrian crossing (so why she is needed, I don't know! ) in Stackstead. This is the main route through the valley and gets very busy at rush hour. We queued 20 mins to get to this pedestrian crossing. The stupid woman, would stop the traffic as soon as she would see a child coming from any of the adjoining roads, instead of waiting till she had a couple with her at the side of the road. Hence why traffic was so bad. We admitted that we had refused to stop but we thought she had no reason to ask us to as no child was with her at that very time.
The Police was very understanding and did not seem surprised at all by our counter complaint. They told us they would have a word with her too.

She must not have liked the complaint we put against her as every subsequent times I came accross her and stopped at the crossing (usually without her asking as it is a crossing anyway ) I would give her a nod, a smile and sometimes a wave (if I was not stopping ). Our car was very recognisable so she knew who it was. It was so funny to see her blood boil everytime she would see our car.

I like the idea of a counter complaint. It'll have been the last thing the old cow would've expected.

What a sad thread this is.

Full of the intolerance that you complain about in 'old people'.

Old people are you a few years down the line, more fragile, more vulnerable, more intolerant of change perhaps.

I have the utmost respect for old people but they can be very stupid.
I guess you could change 'old people' in this statement for every minority or age.
Old twats cannot differentiate between noise and speed.
You are probably right, and you should respect that.

Treat people as you would wish to be treated.

I don't think the thread is sad at all. It's a thread about old the b**tards who think they have the authority of a traffic cop and the ability to judge speed of a gatso. They are arseholes.

But I don't think anyone with even a hint of a sense of humour would actually think these comments apply to all old people...
