Could I assume that these flash cards will interface with certain model camcorders or computers? Might I suggest a Group Buy with 2 bullet cams as a package deal.

You can use 'standard' compact flash cards...available at most computer stores, camera departments, etc. Most multiple card readers will have a slot to plug in your card...thus you can directly transfer your video files to your computer.

A 1 Gigabyte card will record about 30 min of video. You can get up to 8 Gig CF cards...with the 8's being pricey (aprrox $500) ! A typical 'clear' Dragon run is about 16-17 min...so you could record about 4 runs on a 2 Gig card.

Here is a 'moderate' update on the PDR100. Hopefully, it won't be much longer !

**********
Development Updates-

April 17th, 2006. We had a very good design review with the engineering team and I am happy to report that everything is moving along very well. A small video glitch was fixed and we nailed down the user interface. As of today, we have almost all of the items in some stage of fabrication, or in stock. This includes hundreds of components, the metal case parts, custom molded plastic and rubber parts, etc. Everything now in fabrication, is scheduled to be delivered to our facility by April 28th at the latest. We then have to do final assembly, load software, pack and ship.

Software development will be an ongoing task for us and we intend on developing and adding features for some time. We also know that most of our customers will not want to wait for the PDR, so we think we have implemented a great solution. The PDR is upgradeable in the field. This means you can log into our website, download the latest software, copy it to a compact flash card. You then insert the card into the PDR and turn it on. It will automatically update to the latest system software. You will also be able to see what version you are running and on this site there will be a version history to show you what was added or changed.

We expect that the software set in early May to be missing certain features, but you can receive the PDR and feel certain that those features are a simple download away. For those customers that wish to wait until later in the month for delivery, we are happy to delay shipping units. For those that want us to mail them a new compact flash with the latest software, we can do that also for a very small fee.

I am very excited about our ability to ship these units, and how well I think they came out. I think you will be pleased also. As always, I very much appreciate both your support and your patience during this develoment. I will try to make more frequent updates as we get closer to the dates, but at least we think now we have a date.. not just "in a few weeks."

Our "Beta" production run of 200 units is very close to being sold out. Thanks! We will be starting our next build of 1000 units once we have the first 200 units in our customer's hands and have completed some field use tests. This may take about 6 weeks after we start shipping the first 200 beta units, for us to have the 1000 units in stock.

NOTE- Images and specifications subject to change.

Steve, are you still planning on getting one of the first 200? I can't wait to check one of these out. The only problem is buying like 6 1gig CF cards.

Dave,

YES...I was one of the first 50 to order...so I am (patiently???) just waiting to get to play with this unit. I think it will be just what I am looking for.

Unfortunately, it does not currently have a video LCD...so aiming it will require having some means to aid in aiming the bullet cam.

Nah...just get (at least) a 2Gig card....or larger .

I'm with you Bryan...I hope it gets here before the end of May.

Wow, I didn't catch that part. I have my bullet cam hooked up to my camcorder, and even with that, aiming it is a pain. How are you suppose to get the shot framed if you can't see anything?
