Oh well...maybe THIS is the final update !

May 30th , 2006.

We have started final builds on the first run. Which means they are being completed. The Main Circuit Boards are coming off the assembly line here after a small required modification.

Also, it looks like another case 'design' mod has been made...

 

Well...wasn't I just the optimistic one !

Well, the best laid plans and all.

We did run into some minor snags. One was a delivery problem on the unit's LCDs. Turns out we have limited availability and we are still scrambling to find enough units to cover our orders. We just can't get enough and there is an 8 week lead time for more .

We also had some glitches on the electronics that required some testing and fixes. Some things came up that were not apparent before. For the most part, this has gone quite well. It is not uncommon to have to make a small modification or two on the first production run.

Now some good news. We have PDRs. We are boxing them up for shipment this Monday, assuming the units pass their functional test.

Unfortunately, we just don't have the capacity to snap our fingers and make hundreds of PDRs. They take time and for right now, it looks like we can complete about 10 per day and ship them out. We should have 40-50 units by June 5th. We have 10 units in hand right now.

 

Well, maybe you'll get it in time for DBR....

Thanks for the link !

I checked my invoice for pre-order, and it lists 'delivery' for July 2006... . Well...one of these days one will show up on my doorstep...then it will be play-time !

 

Surpise!!! Sitting on my doorstep, last night, was a small box...and surprise...it was my very own PDR100 !

Unfortunately...I didn't have time to play with it last night...but over the weekend I will certainly play with it and test it out. I've got to get geared up for the summer McDragon...woohoo !

 

About time! Can't wait for your impressions and maybe a chance to see some video.

Sorry to hijack, but Dave, are you still shopping for an Elise?

 

I'm always looking, but can't bring myself to sell the S to get an Elise, and I can't afford both.

 

No PDR for me yet.
