Luka,

You can also get Rob's cell number from me, and you can call and speak to him directly. If he thinks something is very "off" with the car, then he can act as negotiator between you and Draper (svc mgr).

Or we can get together, and I will go up there with you. They see me coming and damn near ask me what is wrong and how I want it fixed.

Just let me know.

Mine always has had a little whine, but so did the one that I test drove and a friend's. A little tiny whine is just an s2k trait. Sounds like yours is not so similar to that.

You can always drive mine and see what I mean... although I switched to Royal Purpple.

Let me know.

(and for those interested, I am in augusta, ga.)

Thanks Micah,
I ordered some LE1605, and after I put that in I will see if the problem still persists. Do you change your own diff fluid?? If you do I would love some help on my first change. I just don't trust the dealerships anymore after reading some of the stories on this forum, but then again Rob seems to be a good mechanic that you trust with your car.

I originally met Rob through my girlfriend, and I didn't even have a honda at the time.

When I got my '93 si, he told me to let him know anything that I needed. He does a lot of my work just after hours and I pay him cash... but he has done everything from a valve adjsutment on the b20vtec I had in my hatch to the headgasket, clutch, and intake manifold on my '00 si to the brakes, tranny fluid, diff, and brakes on the s...

I don't trust most techs, and I certainly don't trust most dealers. So, I am the kind of person that most service departments hate.

Just let me know if you need and or want me to call him and talk to him about what is going on... I will gladly help you out.

LE607 has been replaced with a newer lube, Lubrication Engineers' DUOLEC 1605 Gear Lubricant. It's supposed to offer even better protection than the LE607 ALMASOL (LE 1605 has greater thermal stability, improved shear resistance, better water separation & the ability to be filtered to low micron levels without harming or removing additives.)
