Default Electronics Gurus Please Help

I had a bad day at work, came home, found that the SCV wire modifry forgot to send with my order finally got here, and decided to install my new headunit. After a bunch of problems I can't get the headunit back in, and my passenger window has quit functioning. You can read the whole thread here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=651294

If anyone in the Raleigh/Durham area is available to help I would be super grateful!

About the passenger window, could you have locked it by accident on your door switch?

yep, thats exactly what happened. after i had cooled down for a while i thought of that and checked. sure enough the switch was on. after figuring that out i was relieved enough that i could calmly go about trying to cram the head unit in and made it fit...barely.

Reminds me of the Sony head unit I got from CC. After they put it in, I checked it out and found none of my remote switches on the dash worked.
I didn't realize and neither did he that a simple install of an adapter would have cured the problem.

that's awesome. i think i've got it straightened out but i'm not 100% sure. do aftermarket headunits just kind of friction fit in there? it didn't look like the brackets on the stock unit had a place to attach to the alpine. the alpine did have a metal "sleeve" or something though that i guess is just supposed to kind of wedge in there?

I always use the OEM brackets off the Honda radio and install them on the aftermarket radio. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to get all the wires tucked in but i've done enough s2000s and had my radio in/out about 30 times. So i have it down. hehe

I supposed you could "friction fit" it in there. But i'd rather not have radio smack into the airbag module should you hit a nasty bump.

And the GrandMaster does nice work, on top of all of that! I'm loving the Pioneer head-end he put in for me.
