Dave hits on the root of the problem. The school *will* have a political and social bias and *will* promote it to your children given the chance.
About a year ago (and I don't remember the exact details) but one of our local school districts were involved in the renewal of the teacher labor contract. The teachers union passed out information packets to each & every student, saying that unless property taxes were raised & that money was passed on to the teachers in the form of raises, the education of your child would suffer.

Do you honestly think that the teachers would EVER pass out anything that would oppose raising property taxes-or be in opposition to an increase in teachers salary? Do you think the school would allow me (or anybody else) to pass out anti-tax increase info? No.

This in a nutshell is the reason that home-schooling is gaining in popularity.

Looks to me as just an attempt to get a rise out of people. If everyone ignored them, like we should, they would simply go away. Yay for free speech and yay for ignoring the attention whores.

The banner certainly was an attempt to get a rise out of people. The Supreme Court action is an attempt to sue the ass-hat principal. And well he should.

It was a 14' banner for christ sake. Why can't I find a bigger or better photo?
