Damn that sucks, I know you had your bought with this bug, as have we this week. This new variant is so contagious, far more than the earlier ones. We managed to avoid it for over two years but this one got us now. Hoping everyone there gets through it fine, luckily most people who are vaxxed will fair out well for the most part.

 

Oh Unkie, this new variant is so easily spread, we have been so careful in our home yet it bit us one week ago. This new variant is so much different than the previous ones, less likely to get sick if you are vaxxed but it spreads like wildfire. Enjoy the party, stay safe.

 

I still find it surprising how differently it affects people. My mum has been sick (not feeling well at all) since Sunday. No fever, but a massive headache and stuffy head and very tired/worn out.

My kids were over it in 3-4 days and only had 1 or 2 days of really feeling bad.

My dad is still fine, he's waiting on his test results from yesterday.

 

Yup very surprising. My son had razor blades in his throat feeling, we were convinced it was strep throat, but the Doctor said it is a side effect of Covid. He had a bad cough too, headaches, about 5+ days. My wife and I had the sore throat, light cough, headaches, definitely draining of energy. My taste buds are shot, I can taste but nothing tastes good. I have a friend who got Covid early on before vaccines, she can't tolerate any heat in her home now, she turns the heat way down in her home which is very unusual for her.

 

This last part is interesting. Makes me wonder about the connection between COVID and brain-related/dementia-like symptoms. For a long time after a brain injury my body couldn’t regulate it’s temperature. I’d always need the room to be warmer than everyone else.

 

Yeah it is possible I think. It has been a drastic change for this lady so definitely Covid related, she is enjoying the low heating bills though, lol. I've always noticed that she had a poor memory before Covid, and I would wonder if she had early onset alziemers , she isn't that old.

 

I have a long time friend who doesn’t seem totally down with the restrictions. Previously I had to take a time out from hanging with her because she was being too risky (I work with lots of people who are vaccine-hesitant due to colonialism). Anyway on Friday she invited me to the brewery - I know it’s a routine she has with a friend. Except her friend tested positive early last week…which means by Friday she should’ve still been isolating. Not going to lie I’m pissed she held back the fact this person was going to be there and I’m pissed her friend was even out in public.

 

I'm so did you go to the Brewery with her?

 

The wicked part of this virus is that people are most contagious a couple days before their symptoms show up, so you are out there spreading it before you even know it. Less contagious towards the 5-10 day mark, hopefully you are safer than you might think, hoping you avoid it.
