S2000 in the INdy 500. Hypothetical
I think I've heard this once or twice. I'm skeptical but of course it could be true.
It was also timed at 3 miles... possible that it was still accelarating. I... err my friend did this from about 70 and took plenty of road ... maybe 2-3 miles. Otoh... I don't think it would need 3 miles to get up to full speed.

F2) I'm not neglecting drag. I understand the physics of drag I'm saying (and it may not be true) that the up down up down accel'n at a road track (including on and off the throttle) and the smaller accel'n needs of the Sspeedway (including drag)... it's a wash.
F3) Billy, it's not about fuel efficiency... it's MPG. You can't be saying you get better MPG in 3rd than in 6th.
